Security Bading Process

All CU Anschutz pathway program participants must obtain a CU Anschutz Access Control Badge. Participants must complete and submit the necessary documentation to obtain their badge before beginning their program on campus. The Security and Badging Office (SBO) only requires the following information for security purposes. The SBO requires each participant's legal name (First, Middle Initial, and Last Name). The SBO understands that in certain circumstances, a participant's legal name cannot be used; in this situation, please notify the program director so they can work with the SBO. In an emergency on campus, the SBO will use the participant's access control badge with their legal name, photo, month and day of birth, and social security number/passport number or the last four of the school ID to locate participants on campus.

All the required documentation is due three weeks before badges are needed. Participants can only participate on campus once the badging information is complete.

  • You will email all the required information to your department's Badge Approver, who will work with the Security Badging Office.
  • Educational Outreach and Pathway Initiatives can help you identify your department’s Badge Approvers.

  • Legal Name (First, Middle Initial, Last)
    • If the preferred name differs from the legal name, please provide that name.
  • Photo of participant with a blank background
    • Photo requirements can be found here.
  • Month and Day of Birth
  • SSN, OR Passport Number, OR Last four digits of School ID
  • Copy of a state or federal-issued photo ID OR a student photo ID ONLY if under the age of 18
    • A list of acceptable forms of ID can be found here.

*This information is for security purposes in case of an emergency.

  • Non-Paid Badge Application
  • Paid Badge Application

* If you are applying for six or more participant badges, please submit the Sample Bading Spreadsheet to your badge approver instead of the applications.

  • The Security Badging Office (SBO) can process and print badges for pickup by program team members to have the programs distribute the badges on their own.
  • Ensure photos are attached to the badging email you send to your badge approver.
  • Choose one team member to schedule an appointment to pick up your participants' badges by calling the Security Badging Office at 303-724-0399.
  • SBO Office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
  • Pick up is in the Fitzsimons Building, Room N1207.
